Management Accountant – Hybrid (Taunton)

About the role

We are looking for a commercially‑minded Management Accountant to join our Taunton office on a hybrid basis. You will own the accounting, management accounts and financial reporting for key business units, partnering closely with operational managers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, delivering variance analysis and performance commentary.
• Produce accurate monthly reporting packs for business and divisional reporting.
• Manage monthly CAPEX reporting and forecasting against budgets and investment plans.
• Partner with Finance Business Partners to develop budgets, forecasts and five‑year strategic plans.
• Consolidate divisional budgets, forecasts and long‑range plans for Central Finance.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations in line with Group policies.
• Support the year‑end audit process and respond to auditor queries.
• Deliver financial insight to enable informed commercial decisions.
• Prepare and manage monthly customer invoicing.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis, projects and business initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduate or part‑qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT).
• Previous experience in management accounting, period‑end processes, purchase orders and sales invoicing.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, adaptable and eager to learn new skills.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and stay calm under pressure.
• Experience in service, logistics or waste industries is a plus.
