Management Accountant – Interim (12‑month fixed term)

About the role

Our client, a leading art gallery in London, is seeking an interim Management Accountant for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will join the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple entities and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting for several entities, delivering timely monthly management accounts.
• Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal postings and corrections.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Process and review AP and AR invoices, and run supplier payments.
• Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Produce regular financial reports and management information for senior leadership.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow reporting, and process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in management accounting or a similar finance role.
• Ability to start immediately or within one week of notice.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
