Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our finance team, reporting to the Controller. The role will support day‑to‑day accounting operations and help drive financial controls as the business scales following a recent private‑equity investment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the month‑end close process, including international consolidation, and provide insights and recommendations.
• Prepare and review month‑end journals, such as accruals and pre‑payments.
• Perform and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
• Assist the external audit process by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
• Review work completed by other team members, offering feedback and acting as an escalation point for accounting queries.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiency within the finance function.
• Support the implementation of a new accounting system (NetSuite), including design and testing activities.

Required profile

• Degree in a numerical or finance‑related discipline.
• Fully qualified UK accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 2–4+ years of experience, preferably in a private‑company environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
