Management Accountant

About the role

Our client is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join a growing and innovative business in Fareham. The role offers ownership of the monthly management accounts process, the chance to provide financial insight for senior decision‑making, and the opportunity to help shape a forward‑thinking finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and complete month‑end journals, including accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation and payroll adjustments.
• Manage the month‑end close timetable and produce variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, highlighting key trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts and rolling forecasts, providing regular performance updates.
• Partner with department leaders to understand cost drivers, build financial models and support investment decisions.
• Develop strong relationships across operations, engineering, manufacturing, sales, HR and support functions, offering financial guidance for commercial and operational decisions.
• Complete detailed monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations, manage accruals, provisions and fixed‑asset accounting, and maintain depreciation schedules.
• Take ownership of operating expenditure reporting, monitor departmental spending and assist with cash‑flow forecasting.

Required profile

• Qualified Management Accountant (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
• Proven experience preparing monthly management accounts and delivering variance analysis.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
