Management Accountant (or Assistant) – Burnley

About the role

This position is for a Management Accountant (or a progressive Assistant Management Accountant) within a well‑established, growing business in Burnley. You will join a dynamic finance team, taking ownership of month‑end processes and contributing to continuous improvement across the function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple entities, including profit & loss reporting and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Execute full month‑end processes: pre‑payments, accruals, journal entries, and inter‑company transactions.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, capitalisation, depreciation and related schedules.
• Perform high‑volume journal posting, intercompany reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Support the finance team in driving efficiencies and process enhancements.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACCA or CIMA (or qualified by experience) with at least an AAT qualification.
• Minimum five years’ experience in an accounting role, including at least two years preparing management accounts.
• Strong analytical ability, high attention to detail and proven capability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Sage accounting software.
• Solid Microsoft Office skills.
