Manager Administration Consulting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced pensions consulting specialist to join Brightwell’s growing Administration Consulting team. Based in Chesterfield (with occasional work in London), you will act as a trusted advisor to large pension scheme and insurance clients, delivering expert guidance on a wide range of administration matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the initiation and implementation of projects such as GMP equalisation, factor reviews, automation enhancements and legislative changes.
• Offer strategic and technical pensions expertise to project managers and teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain calculation specifications, support testing activities and update them in response to regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with administration system providers, internal admin teams and wider business to ensure cohesive scheme implementations.
• Act as the primary client interface on administration project matters, preparing papers for trustee and client service review meetings.
• Assist in resolving escalated complaints, identifying root causes, correcting benefit payments and implementing process improvements.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess impact, draft consultation responses and coordinate compliant implementation.

Required profile

• Significant experience in pensions consultancy, third‑party administration or large defined‑benefit schemes.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail in complex calculation work.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and stakeholder management.
• Proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of pensions administration processes and legislation.
• Experience with calculation specification development and testing.
• Familiarity with administration system providers and integration.
