Managing Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead a profitable specialist engineering business within a respected group. Based in Surrey, you will have full autonomy and P&L responsibility, shaping strategy and driving growth across HVAC/R, BMS, sensors, controls and integrated systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s strategic direction and commercial plan.
• Own full P&L, delivering sustainable revenue and profit growth.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Identify and pursue new market opportunities while maintaining operational excellence.
• Represent the business at Group level and build trusted relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven track record as Managing Director, General Manager or Divisional Director in engineering, technical or industrial sectors.
• Experience with full P&L ownership and delivering profitable growth.
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to spot and develop growth opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence at Board level and manage key stakeholder relationships.
• Leadership style that balances strategic thinking with pragmatic execution.
