Mandarin‑Speaking Risk Control Officer – Banking (1‑yr FTC)

About the role

This position supports the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function of a European‑wide commercial bank. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid environment, reporting to the Head of Department and assisting senior leaders with risk assessments, policy development and incident management. Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the work plan to support enterprise risk operations and reporting.
• Assist the Deputy Head/Head of Department in leading head‑office ERM assessments and reporting.
• Develop and maintain operational risk management policies, standards and the incident‑management framework.
• Support risk‑acceptance processes and escalate significant risks to senior management.
• Establish and maintain centralised control libraries to ensure consistent control descriptions and testing standards.
• Support 1LoD teams with detailed process mapping, RCSA workshops and risk‑profile development.
• Track and challenge RCSA results, ensuring control gaps are closed through formal action‑tracking.
• Partner with business units to develop Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and maintain the bank’s ORM taxonomy.
• Provide governance support for the Risk and Compliance Committee, including high‑quality paper preparation.

Required profile

• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills.
• Solid experience in ERM/operational risk management within a European commercial bank.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting (4 days office, 1 day remote).
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
