Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Lead Team in High‑Mix Production

About the role

We are partnering with a respected manufacturing business in Stokesley to find a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This senior leadership position will steer a high‑performing engineering team within a technically complex, high‑mix, low‑volume environment, supporting production, new‑product introduction and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians.
• Provide expert technical support to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
• Drive Design‑for‑Manufacture (DFM) throughout the NPI lifecycle and ensure smooth production hand‑over.
• Manage KPIs, budgets and performance metrics aligned with business objectives.
• Champion Lean, structured problem‑solving and 5S initiatives.
• Identify, evaluate and implement new equipment, technologies and process enhancements.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Design, Projects, Supply Chain and Operations.
• Support bids and customer opportunities with technical input.
• Maintain compliance with health & safety, industry standards and customer requirements.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering Manager or senior engineering role.
• Background in electronic or electro‑mechanical manufacturing, preferably high‑mix/low‑volume.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• ERP knowledge and experience working in regulated environments is a plus.
