Manufacturing Transactional Accountant – 12‑Month Temp

About the role

The Manufacturing Transactional Accountant will join a high‑growth manufacturing business in High Wycombe on a 12‑month temporary contract. Working full‑time in an office‑based environment, you will own the day‑to‑day financial operations and report to the Group Finance team when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the sales ledger – maintain customer accounts, chase overdue payments and liaise with the sales team.
• Process the purchase ledger – receive, verify and pay supplier invoices, reconcile goods received.
• Set up and maintain pro‑forma invoices within the finance system.
• Execute month‑end activities – post journals for accruals, pre‑payments and fixed assets, produce the trading trial balance and support reporting.
• Handle minimal payroll duties, including transferring payroll funds to the designated bank account.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance or Accounts Assistant in a manufacturing environment.
• Currently studying towards CIMA or qualified by experience (QBE) within manufacturing; ACCA candidates will not be considered.
• Proven ability to manage sales and purchase ledgers, AR and AP processes.
• Strong understanding of month‑end procedures, journal entries, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with finance systems, preferably Oncore and Xero.
