Market Street Butcher

About the role

Morrisons is hiring a Market Street Butcher for its Erskine store in Bridgewater Shopping Centre. The fresh counters are central to the store, and butchers prepare primals and deliver customer cuts of British meat to in-store and online shoppers. The role is permanent, 36.75 hours per week, starting at 7am and finishing at 8pm on back shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver friendly service and prepare custom cuts for in-store and online shoppers
• Cut, bone, steak, dice, mince, season and wrap meat primals to company specifications using specialist equipment
• Keep fresh meat counters and pre-packaged displays well-stocked, fresh and attractive
• Work safely with knives, saws and mincing machines, upholding health, safety and hygiene standards

Required profile

• Trained butcher, counter worker or professional kitchen experience
• Genuine knife and butchery skills, comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Friendly, approachable and willing to help colleagues across the fresh counters
• Over school-leaver age; some roles require being over 18 for health and safety reasons
