Marketing & Events Officer – Independent Preparatory School

About the role

The school is seeking a creative, highly organised Marketing & Events Officer to lead its communications, social media, content creation and event management. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to raise the school’s profile and attract new families.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the annual marketing and communications strategy.
• Increase brand awareness across Essex and the wider independent education sector.
• Manage the school’s social‑media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) and maintain a strategic content calendar.
• Produce daily engaging content – photography, video reels, interviews, parent testimonials and behind‑the‑scenes footage.
• Run social‑media advertising campaigns to support admissions.
• Monitor analytics, audience growth and website traffic to optimise performance.
• Create written material for newsletters, blogs, prospectuses, press releases and marketing collateral.
• Plan, coordinate and execute school events, open days and community engagement activities.

Required profile

• Creative and energetic marketing professional with strong organisational skills.
• Experience in school or education‑sector marketing is desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and across departments.
• Excellent written communication and storytelling ability.
