Maths Lecturer – Northeast

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Maths Lecturer to join our team in the North East, delivering engaging mathematics lessons across a range of programmes. You will support learners of varying abilities, helping them build strong mathematical foundations and progress towards further education or employment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver inclusive Maths lectures for GCSE, Functional Skills and A‑Level courses.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Develop schemes of work and learning resources aligned with awarding‑body specifications.
• Monitor attendance, achievement and learner wellbeing, and complete required administrative tasks.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive and motivating learning environment.
• Collaborate with the curriculum team to continuously improve teaching, learning and assessment.

Required profile

• Degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Experience teaching Mathematics in Further Education, Secondary Education or Adult Learning (desirable).
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Genuine passion for helping learners succeed.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
