Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager

About the role

You will lead mechanical and electrical capital works projects for BD Group across housing, corporate property and regeneration schemes in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, managing the full lifecycle from feasibility to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project scope, programme, budget, quality and risk throughout the M&E project lifecycle.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and client representatives, providing technical input into feasibility studies and business cases.
• Develop scopes and specifications for tender, review contractor proposals and technical submissions.
• Oversee commissioning, testing and handover, including O&M manuals, as‑built information and asset data.
• Work closely with Quantity Surveyors on cost management and ensure compliance with Building Regulations, CDM, fire safety, electrical safety and gas safety.

Required profile

• HNC/HND, degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Project Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering M&E projects in capital works, construction, housing or property asset management.
• Experience managing projects from concept and design through to construction, commissioning and handover.
• Strong understanding of M&E design, installation, commissioning and building services systems.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and health and safety requirements for M&E works.
