About the role

Join the Mechanical Analysis department in Stevenage, supporting a range of space missions such as ESA ExoMars and Airbus Defence and Space Eurostar Neo. This 12‑month placement starts on 19 July 2027 and offers hands‑on experience in mechanical analysis of spacecraft hardware.

Key responsibilities

Develop analysis tools to improve existing processes.
Perform mechanical analysis to support design or test phases of ongoing space hardware projects.

Required profile

Undergraduate student (must remain enrolled for the full placement).
Studying towards a BSc in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering (predicted 2:1 or above).
Provide graduation date on application.
Subject to BPSS check and possibly UK SC‑level security clearance.

Required skills

Fundamental principles of structural analysis.
Mechanical simulation software.
Proficiency with MS Excel.
Experience with MATLAB (advantageous).
Basic programming skills (a plus).

What we offer

Salary of £24,500 per year.
37‑hour work week with flexible and hybrid working options.
Half‑day Fridays and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
