Mechanical Inspector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join a market‑leading precision engineering company in Woking. You will work with advanced inspection equipment, supporting the manufacture of high‑quality optical and engineering products.

Key responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in‑process, first‑off, first‑article and final inspections of precision‑machined components and assemblies.
• Operate and program coordinate‑measuring machines (CMM) alongside conventional inspection tools.
• Generate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and maintain inspection documentation and quality records.
• Support supplier quality activities, investigate non‑conformances and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure the highest quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical inspection within a manufacturing or precision‑engineering environment.
• Hands‑on experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience producing FAIRs and using a range of conventional inspection equipment.
• Desire for long‑term development and career progression.
