Medical Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Medical Receptionist to join our Primary Care Services team, providing a courteous and efficient front‑desk service across several practices in Stafford. Working 31.5 hours per week, you will support Moorcroft Medical Centre, Moss Green Surgery and, as required, Keele Practice and Holmcroft Surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors, manage the reception area and answer telephone enquiries.
• Schedule and confirm appointments using the practice management system.
• Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with CQC and information‑governance standards.
• Provide administrative support to clinical staff, including handling referrals, prescriptions and correspondence.
• Assist with the smooth operation of multiple sites, adapting to changing demands and travelling between locations as needed.

Required profile

• Highly motivated and committed with a strong customer‑service orientation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Flexibility to support several practices and adapt to a dynamic workload.
• Understanding of NHS policies, CQC requirements and confidentiality standards.
