Medical Science Liaison – North England & Scotland

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Parkinson’s Disease will act as a scientific bridge between AbbVie and external healthcare experts across the North of England and Scotland. Reporting to the Medical Manager, the MSL will support the company’s medical strategy by delivering scientific information, facilitating research collaborations, and supporting clinical trial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain deep knowledge of Parkinson’s disease therapy, AbbVie products, and the competitive landscape.
• Deliver compliant scientific presentations to healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.
• Organise and participate in external education, advisory board, and round‑table meetings.
• Support the initiation, oversight, and recruitment for AbbVie‑sponsored clinical trials.
• Assist in the generation of real‑world evidence, investigator‑initiated study proposals, and publication of clinical data.
• Collect and share medical and scientific field intelligence, including competitor insights.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with new external experts aligned with AbbVie’s strategic goals.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a comparable scientific liaison role.
• Strong understanding of the Parkinson’s disease therapeutic area and related pharmaceutical products.
• Proven ability to build credible relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a focus on scientific accuracy and compliance.
