Merchandiser - Leisure (6 Month Fixed-Term)

About the role

Argos is recruiting a Merchandiser for its Leisure team on a fixed-term, 6-month seasonal contract. The role sits at the centre of planning, building and delivering ranges that connect with customers, shaping decisions, improving stock flow and influencing the commercial direction of the category. It works closely with buyers, suppliers and cross-functional partners, and a secondment is open.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a customer-led merchandising strategy for the category, building balanced and commercial ranges
• Use data, trends and customer insight to inform decisions and manage budgets
• Work with Buying, Supply Chain, Retail and suppliers to keep stock flowing and optimise availability
• Review performance regularly, identifying risks and opportunities for trade conversations, planning cycles and future ranges
• Support forecasting and trading decisions

Required profile

• Previous merchandising experience, ideally in general merchandise
• Experience delivering results to target as an individual and as part of a team
• Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-moving retail environment
• Ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders
• Organised, proactive and customer-focused

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data
• Strong Excel skills
