Metrology Service Engineer – Field & Site Based

About the role

We are seeking a Metrology Service Engineer to join a fast‑growing engineering business that delivers advanced measurement solutions to manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and precision‑engineering clients. The role combines field work at customer sites with support activities at the company’s own facility.

Key responsibilities

• Install, calibrate and service metrology equipment such as CMMs, laser scanners and portable arms at customer locations.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs both on‑site and in‑house.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment use and maintenance.
• Assist internal teams with product knowledge and technical expertise.
• Ensure all activities comply with quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in a service, maintenance or calibration role within engineering or manufacturing.
• Exposure to metrology equipment (CMMs, laser scanners, portable arms) is highly desirable.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the UK (and occasionally further afield).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer‑focused attitude.
