Mid-level Software Engineer – C#/.NET, Azure (Cambridge)

About the role

As a Software Engineer (Mid), you'll independently deliver significant features end‑to‑end across systems that the whole business relies on, seeking support as needed while continuing to build your knowledge of design principles, testing methods and Redgate's internal systems. You will work across systems spanning data, security, purchasing, licensing, identity, authentication and usage, supporting both product engineering teams and the wider business.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver significant features end‑to‑end across shared internal systems.
• Influence architectural decisions and deepen understanding of Redgate's platform.
• Own production issues from investigation through resolution and prevention.
• Work with a broad tech stack including C#/.NET, React, Azure, event‑driven architecture and observability tooling.

Required profile

• Solid experience with modern C#/.NET, SQL, source control and CI/CD pipelines, applying design principles and architectural patterns.
• Bias for simplicity and maintainability, strong engineering practices (unit testing, code review, debugging, safe change management).
• Awareness of distributed systems and operational risk, applying judgement when changing shared or production systems.
• Ability to investigate production and support issues using logs, telemetry, database queries and service‑level diagnostics.
• Strong communication skills, both in person and in writing, especially when explaining technical findings, risks or trade‑offs.
