Mid-Level VFX Artist

About the role

We are looking for a Mid-Level VFX Artist to join our Art Team. The successful candidate will work in our creative Art department, supporting many departments producing high quality VFX for Environment, Character and Gameplay Art, Animation and Game Mechanics that match the ambition and vision of the studio and project.

Key responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Art Director, Lead/Senior VFX and other appropriate discipline leads.
• Create environmental, character and mechanic related effects from initial modelling/texture creation to final implementation within UE5.
• Liaise with Art, Design, Animation and Code teams to fully understand effect requirements and aid implementation.
• Ensure consistency of style throughout the project.
• Research and provide options for effects when required.
• Aid in the development and enhancement of tools for the VFX/Art teams.
• Take responsibility for solving pipeline and technical issues.
• Create effect templates and schedule your own work.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a VFX Artist.
• At least one shipped game title as a VFX Artist.
• In‑depth knowledge of Unreal Engine and Niagara.
• Technical proficiency in Maya and industry‑standard tools such as Photoshop and After Effects.
• Good knowledge of in‑game effects like smoke, explosions, fire and damage.
• Positive, solution‑driven mindset with strong problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of performance and memory budgets.
• Good grasp of animation timing, pace and tension.
• Ability to adapt to various art styles and genres.
• Willingness to take constructive criticism and adapt to changes.
• Genuine passion for visual effects and making great games.
