Mobile Chemist – Hazardous Waste Specialist

About the role

Join Tradebe UK as a Mobile Chemist responsible for organising and executing hazardous waste collections, primarily for the University of Cambridge and other client sites. You will play a vital part in ensuring safe, compliant transport and disposal of hazardous materials while supporting customers in maintaining robust waste management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate waste collections from client sites and deliver to authorised waste transfer facilities.
• Provide and maintain appropriate packing materials on‑site.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK legislation, health and safety policies, and company procedures.
• Assess, segregate, label, and pack hazardous waste, producing required documentation.
• Load waste onto transport vehicles using material handling equipment and safely drive to disposal sites.
• Conduct risk assessments at client locations and advise waste producers on best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC qualification in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Proven competence in handling and packing hazardous waste for transport.
• Computer literate with ability to generate compliant documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building customer relationships and identifying sales opportunities.
• Valid EU driving licence held for at least two years.
