Mobile Cook Manager – School Catering (Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a Mobile Cook Manager to lead our school catering operations across primary and secondary schools in the Letchworth area. Working on a part‑time, term‑time basis, you will ensure fresh, nutritious meals are prepared safely while travelling between sites.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to schools to support and manage day‑to‑day kitchen operations.
• Prepare and deliver fresh, nutritious meals in line with school food standards.
• Oversee stock control, ordering and budget management.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations, including HACCP and temperature checks.
• Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Manage allergen information and cater for special dietary requirements.
• Build positive relationships with staff, students and the wider school community.
• Maintain accurate records and complete audits.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (required).
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in catering (highly desirable).
• Proven leadership experience in a kitchen environment.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, stock and kitchen operations.

What we offer

• £15.85 per hour (£19,178 per annum) – 27.5 hours per week.
