Modern Foreign Language Tutor – 1:1 Tuition (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Modern Foreign Language Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people in Chandler's Ford, Eastleigh, Winchester and surrounding areas. Working on behalf of local authorities, you will help learners with additional needs develop language skills, confidence and progress towards their individual goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one modern foreign language lessons tailored to each learner.
• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies.
• Support learners with SEND, EHCPs, or other additional needs.
• Build positive relationships and maintain communication with parents/guardians and local authority contacts.
• Travel to designated locations as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of one or more modern foreign languages.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs or additional needs (desirable).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, adaptable and organised approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver’s licence preferred or willingness to travel locally.
