Module Leader (Building Control)

About the role

The University of the Built Environment is looking for a Module Leader (Associate Lecturer) for its Building Control Integrated Degree Apprenticeship End Point Assessment (EPA) module. The contract is fixed term for around five months, seven hours per week, fully remote and based in the UK. The module leader must not have taught or had contact with the EPA cohort before the module starts, to ensure an impartial approach.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the module is delivered on schedule and to the required quality, with high student satisfaction
• Be accessible to students, including at least one surgery per week
• Monitor VLE activity, respond to student queries within the agreed timeframes and post a weekly wrap-up
• Initiate and subscribe to the appropriate forums, and deliver weekly synchronous activities such as webinars
• Schedule tutorial time with the Core Services team, run welcome and end-of-module webinars, and promote student feedback
• Review module content with the Learning Designer and attend module and scrutiny boards
• Evaluate the module against university KPIs and submit the Module Leader's Report
• Moderate assessor marking and update EPA exam materials (plan drawings and question bank)
• Take part in CPD and staff development, including Educational Development Plan events

Required profile

• Ability to work remotely from a suitable home environment, with own equipment
• Availability for the autumn 2026 semester (start 21 September 2026, end 12 March 2027)
• Impartiality towards the EPA cohort
