Multi-Skilled Engineer

About the role

Smart Managed Solutions is recruiting an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer for a high-profile contract in Oxford. The role covers electrical and mechanical plant maintenance, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 08:00 to 17:00. SMART helps organisations across the UK keep their facilities running safely, efficiently and sustainably, offering structured training and clear progression routes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works on all site electrical and mechanical systems
• Fault-find using graphical information and alarm data, covering air conditioning, UPS, generators and LV systems
• Manage engineering assets to avoid unplanned disruption and support cost-effective operations
• Oversee reactive works so they are responded to and closed in a timely way
• Develop tools to report on asset and building performance and recommend improvements
• Maintain suitable spares, keeping track of parts inventory and estimated timescales for remedial tasks
• Keep the computer-based maintenance system up to date, close PPM and reactive tickets accurately and submit all paperwork
• Prepare and follow method statements and risk assessments, and keep plant rooms locked, clean and tidy

Required profile

• Formal training in City and Guilds Electrical Installations or the equivalent NVQ in Building Services maintenance
• Knowledge of air conditioning, UPS, generators and LV systems
• Ability to fault-find using graphical information and alarm data
