Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer you will ensure the smooth and safe operation of our manufacturing site, handling both reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns and carry out planned maintenance, statutory checks and inspections.
• Prioritise workload with the Engineering Team Leader to minimise downtime.
• Complete end‑of‑shift reports, logging work and flagging issues for the next shift.
• Control contractors on site, including inductions, permits and compliance.
• Work within health, safety and environmental policies, applying permit‑to‑work and isolation systems.
• Support a range of engineering and non‑engineering projects.
• Be available for additional hours in emergency situations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in breakdown maintenance with strong mechanical and electrical abilities.
• Ability to fault‑find using mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Solid understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Good computer skills for digital reporting.
• Qualified to ONC level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of PLC fault finding, machining, welding or pipe‑fitting is a plus.
• First Aid or forklift/scissor‑lift licence desirable.
