Multi‑Skilled Air Conditioning and HVAC Engineer

About the role

The Multi‑Skilled Air Conditioning and HVAC Engineer will ensure safe, comfortable and energy‑efficient environments across a portfolio of commercial sites. Working alongside Camdens electrical and mechanical engineers, you will be part of the M&E Operations Team delivering both planned and reactive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair split, multi‑split, VRV/VRF and DX refrigeration systems.
• Maintain heat pumps, fan coil units, air handling units (AHUs) and extract‑supply ventilation equipment.
• Diagnose faults and replace components such as compressors, expansion valves, fan motors, PCB controls, sensors and contactors.
• Perform refrigerant leak detection, recovery, pressure testing and system evacuation in line with F‑Gas regulations.
• Carry out commissioning, seasonal performance inspections, filter and belt changes, coil cleaning and drain testing.
• Inspect fans, motors, ventilation controls and support pump, pressurisation unit and heat‑exchanger maintenance where competent.
• Record all work in Camdens CAFM system using mobile technology and manage workload to meet PPM and reactive targets.
• Conduct dynamic risk assessments and adhere to permit‑to‑work, working‑at‑height and other safety procedures.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• Current F‑Gas Category 1 certification.
• Proven experience with split, multi‑split and VRV/VRF systems, as well as AHUs, FCUs and commercial HVAC equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities, with experience in both PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Ability to work independently in occupied buildings and a full UK driving licence.
