Multi‑Skilled Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance

About the role

This position is for a Multi‑Skilled Engineer responsible for both electrical and mechanical maintenance within a fast‑moving food manufacturing environment. You will work on a continental shift pattern (4 days on, 4 days off) and help maximise machine efficiency across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day electrical and mechanical maintenance on ovens, sealing machinery, gearboxes, pumps and other production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in automated machinery and PLC‑controlled systems.
• Implement and support Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Required profile

• Apprentice‑trained engineer with a background in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience working in a high‑speed manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Willingness to develop new skills through extensive on‑the‑job training.
