About the role
We are seeking a hands‑on Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading extrusion manufacturer. The role is electrically biased (60% electrical, 40% mechanical) and supports continuous high‑output extrusion and converting lines in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance on extrusion and converting machinery.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns across production lines.
- Fault‑find motors, drives, inverters, sensors and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain vacuum conveying systems, including vacuum pumps, hoppers and load cells.
- Support blown film extrusion lines and downstream equipment such as slitter rewinders, bagging machines, recycling and film handling systems.
- Strip down, inspect, repair and rebuild mechanical and electrical components.
- Record all work in the CMMS and ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to sustain output and drive reliability projects.
Required profile
- Recognised engineering qualification.
- Strong electrically‑biased background (approximately 60% electrical focus).
- Experience in extrusion, plastics or continuous process manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of equipment performance.
- Commitment to health, safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.

What we offer
- Competitive salary £43,000‑£44,000 per annum.
- Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:00 schedule with 1 week on‑call every 3 weeks (paid at 1.525× rate).
