Group Quality Apprentice (Level 4)

About the role

Alfred H Knight is looking for a Group Quality Apprentice to join the Analysis team in Liverpool. You will support continuous improvement and delivery of the company’s quality approach across laboratory operations focused on metals and minerals analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 accreditations for each laboratory.
• Support the Group Quality schedule for Round Robin and proficiency exercises, including sample preparation and result collation.
• Help control internal Quality Control materials, stock maintenance and replacement production.
• Maintain equipment calibration records and other quality documentation.
• Provide administrative support to the Group Quality function and attend quality‑focused meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 GCSEs (grades A‑C) including Maths, Science and English, with a basic understanding of chemistry.
• Strong attention to detail, good numeracy and literacy, and the ability to prioritise workload.
• Confident communicator with a positive, ambitious mindset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suite applications.
• Computer literacy for equipment calibration and quality record keeping.
