Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer – FMCG Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a market‑leading FMCG manufacturing plant in Sunderland. Working on a rotating 2‑shift pattern, you will play a key part in keeping the production line operating smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on bottling, filling, canning, seaming and labelling lines.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain and programme PLC‑controlled machinery, including Siemens S7 and Allen‑Bradley platforms.
• Support and troubleshoot robotic systems such as Kuka and Fanuc.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to lean manufacturing projects.

Required profile

• HND/HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years experience in FMCG manufacturing maintenance.
• Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles.
• Ability to work safely on rotating shift patterns (07:00‑19:00 / 19:00‑07:00).
