Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Healthcare Sterilisation

About the role

Join a specialist healthcare service that supports the NHS by ensuring the safe sterilisation of surgical instruments. As a site‑based Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing autoclaves, steriliser machines, washers and associated plant equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair autoclaves, steriliser units, washers and related plant machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on equipment and automation systems.
• Work with steam plants, boilers, conveyors and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, validation support and compliance checks.
• Support contractors, manage spare‑part inventories and participate in continuous‑improvement projects.
• Participate in a 1‑in‑4 on‑call rota and provide standby coverage.

Required profile

• Engineering apprenticeship, HNC/HND or City & Guilds qualification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing, FMCG or plant environments.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, ideally a 50/50 split.
• Full UK driving licence.
