National Account Manager

About the role

Cakesmiths, the UK’s leading baker of innovative traybakes and cakes, is seeking a National Account Manager to join its growing commercial team in Bristol. You will introduce the brand’s range of cakes, bakes and desserts to new end‑user accounts across the foodservice sector, building lasting relationships that drive commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage national accounts, restaurant groups, pubs/breweries, QSR brands and contract caterers that align with Cakesmiths’ values.
• Leverage foodservice knowledge and existing networks to open doors and start meaningful conversations.
• Lead the full sales cycle from initial contact through product tasting, pitch, negotiation and hand‑over to the accounts team.
• Collaborate with NPD, operations and marketing to craft bespoke proposals.
• Represent Cakesmiths at tastings, meetings and industry events.
• Maintain a clear pipeline in HubSpot and provide regular updates to the Head of National Accounts.
• Manage the P&L for new business accounts and coordinate with supply chain to ensure timely delivery.
• Track and analyse sales performance metrics against targets.

Required profile

• A natural connector with established contacts in the foodservice sector, especially restaurant groups, breweries, QSR, hotels and caterers.
• Thoughtful, curious and attentive to customer needs, offering sensible solutions.
• Commercially aware, confident negotiator without being pushy.
• Organised, reliable and able to represent the brand professionally.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with colleagues.

Required skills

• Experience using HubSpot CRM and a methodical approach to pipeline management.
