Neighbourhood Housing Officer (Temporary, Full‑time)

About the role
We are seeking a proactive Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join a local authority team in Northolt. This full‑time, temporary position is fully office‑based and focuses on delivering high‑quality housing management services to residents across a range of tenures.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a designated patch of properties, including social housing tenants, leaseholders and sheltered residents.
- Provide excellent customer service and handle tenancy‑related casework such as sign‑ups, terminations, exchanges, succession applications and transfers.
- Conduct estate inspections, home visits and resident meetings.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to support vulnerable residents.
- Support tenancy sustainment, signpost to relevant services and respond to complaints within agreed timescales.
- Monitor communal areas, address health and safety issues and assist with safeguarding referrals.
- Participate in legal processes, including court attendance and enforcement actions.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with housing policies and legislation.
Required profile
- Experience managing social housing residents.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with residents, staff and external partners.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Effective problem‑solving, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Organisational capability to plan, prioritise and produce high‑standard work.
Required skills
- Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and industry standards.
- Ability to handle tenancy casework and legal processes.
- Competence in conducting inspections, home visits and resident meetings.
- Experience supporting vulnerable residents and making safeguarding referrals.
