Network Engineer (12 month Fixed Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a global company operating from prestigious offices in the centre of Glasgow. The role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract (PAYE) with a hybrid working model – three days per week on site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 3rd line support for the company’s network infrastructure and backend IT systems.
• Design, implement and maintain multi‑site LAN and WAN solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex network, system and security incidents.
• Manage firewall, VPN and load‑balancing technologies.
• Monitor performance using Solarwinds and Cisco Prime tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer with strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Hands‑on experience designing and deploying multi‑site LAN/WAN architectures.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality support within a hybrid environment.

Required skills

• Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls
• VPN technologies
• Cisco switching, Cisco Nexus 3000 & 9000 series
• Routing protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF
• Aruba wireless deployments
• MPLS and Layer‑7 security concepts
• Solarwinds NPM & NTA, Cisco Prime
• F5 LTM, GTM, APM, BIG‑IP
