Network Reliability Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Network Reliability Specialist to join a global financial services organisation. Based in East London and working in a hybrid model, you will own the reliability, resilience and security of critical network infrastructure that powers international trading platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Build and enhance observability, monitoring and alerting frameworks across data‑centre, enterprise and cloud networks.
• Develop automation solutions (Python, Ansible or similar) to improve configuration management and incident response.
• Identify reliability risks, performance bottlenecks and single points of failure before they impact services.
• Investigate complex incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Create telemetry, dashboards, metrics and alerting strategies that deliver actionable insight.
• Increase network resilience through automated testing and continuous operational improvement.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, security and engineering teams to strengthen service reliability.
• Support network security initiatives, including hardening, secure design, access controls and threat detection.

Required profile

• Strong networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF, multicast, routing and switching.
• Experience operating large‑scale production networks where uptime is critical.
• Hands‑on experience with network automation using Python, Ansible or comparable tools.
• Deep knowledge of monitoring, observability and alerting platforms.
• Proven ability to build operational tooling and reliability‑focused engineering solutions.
• Understanding of network security principles and secure infrastructure practices.
• Experience with Arista and/or Cisco technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues under pressure.
