Night Porter

About the role

The Night Porter provides essential front‑of‑house support during the overnight shift at Mercure Manchester Norton Grange Hotel and Spa. Reporting to the Revenue Manager/Conference Manager, you will ensure smooth night‑audit operations, maintain bar security, and deliver courteous service to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and break down function areas according to the next‑day function sheets.
• Complete night‑audit reports and any required financial reconciliations.
• Secure stocks, cash, consumables and bar equipment, complying with licensing laws.
• Serve bar and room‑service orders promptly and accurately.
• Handle guest complaints with professionalism and genuine care.
• Maintain tidy bar and banqueting areas, ensuring minimal waste and effective stock control.
• Uphold 4‑star standards and core hotel policies at all times.
• Assist with cleanliness of banqueting spaces and follow food‑and‑drink service standards.
• Report any incidents that could breach licensed‑premises regulations.
• Participate in mandatory health, safety, fire and training sessions.
