Night Shift Document Checker (Remote)

About the role

Join the Document Services team at A&O Shearman as a Night Shift Document Checker. Working remotely, you will ensure the highest quality of legal and financial documents for the firm’s global network during the overnight hours.

Key responsibilities

• Proofread a wide range of documents for spelling, grammar, sense and adherence to house‑style or client‑specific guidelines.
• Carry out additional checking tasks to meet departmental quality standards.
• Implement client instructions, clarify queries and follow required administrative and technical procedures.
• Provide language and style advice to clients and edit documents to improve readability when requested.
• Guide internal teams on writing style, formatting and English usage.
• Monitor personal workload in real time and ensure smooth hand‑over of ongoing projects.
• Occasionally cover workflow‑coordination duties, including scheduling and client liaison.

Required profile

• Legal, financial or similar professional proofreading experience (preferred).
• Strong eye for detail and experience with complex technical documents.
• Ability to work in a deadline‑driven, 24/7 environment.
• Proven client‑service support experience.
• Commitment to personal development and delivering high‑standard service.
