Night Support Worker – Children’s Home (Oxford)

About the role
As a Night Support Worker you will provide 24‑hour care for young people living in Witherslack Group’s children’s homes in Oxford. Working a 4‑on/4‑off night shift pattern, you will be the first point of contact when a resident needs support during the night.
Key responsibilities
- Respond promptly to young people who wake up distressed, ill, or experiencing trauma.
- Provide emotional support and de‑escalation techniques throughout the night.
- Build trusting relationships so residents feel safe and heard.
- Complete paperwork, maintain accurate records and carry out administrative tasks.
- Perform routine cleaning, laundry and general upkeep of the home.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents during night hours.
Required profile
- Genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
- Ability to work night shifts on a rotating 4‑on/4‑off schedule.
- Reliability and good attendance record.
- Understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs of children and adolescents.
