Night Traffic Operator - 4on/4off

About the role

Join Maritime Transport’s Manchester depot as a Night Traffic Operator working a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern. You will coordinate container movements, liaise with drivers and ports, and ensure timely deliveries throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple drivers and monitor their start and finish times using the TOPS system.
• Communicate with ports to book delivery slots and handle entry procedures.
• Chase drivers for ETAs, reroute jobs when necessary, and keep schedules on track.
• Verify that all Proof‑of‑Delivery (POD) documents match the corresponding jobs in the system.
• Inform customers of potential delays and provide updated ETAs.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Traffic Operator (essential).
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work a 4‑on/4‑off night shift pattern.
• Strong knowledge of UK geography.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems quickly, and stay organized.
• Flexibility to meet business demands.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the TOPS transport management system.
