Nightstop Coordinator – Youth Homelessness Support

About the role
The Nightstop Coordinator will lead a vital service that helps young people experiencing homelessness find safe, temporary accommodation and a route to longer‑term housing. Based in Manchester, you will work closely with referral partners, volunteer hosts and local agencies to ensure each placement is safe, supportive and effective.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for young people and referral partners, providing advice and sign‑posting.
- Conduct needs and risk assessments for potential Nightstop guests.
- Coordinate logistics of emergency placements with volunteer hosts.
- Identify and pursue longer‑term accommodation options in partnership with agencies.
- Provide ongoing support to guests and volunteers, including participation in a 24‑hour on‑call rota.
- Ensure compliance with data‑protection, information‑sharing and safeguarding protocols.
- Recruit, interview, DBS‑check and onboard volunteer hosts, following safer recruitment practices.
- Deliver training, supervision and celebration events for volunteers.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience supporting vulnerable or homeless youth.
- Strong safeguarding and risk‑assessment capabilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with partners, volunteers and young people.
- Organised, resilient and able to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices.
- Familiarity with DBS checks and safer recruitment procedures.
- Ability to assess risk and make informed placement decisions.
