About the role

We are seeking an experienced Non‑Medical Prescriber to join our specialist substance‑misuse service in Southend‑on‑Sea. This Band 7, 35‑hour per week, permanent position offers the chance to deliver expert prescribing and holistic care to individuals affected by drug and alcohol dependence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based non‑medical prescribing and clinical interventions.
• Manage complex drug and alcohol cases with autonomy and professionalism.
• Provide clinical guidance to colleagues and external partners.
• Lead risk management, safeguarding, and medicines management activities.
• Support service improvement and promote best practice across the team.
• Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Qualified Non‑Medical Prescriber.
• Strong experience within substance‑misuse services.
• Excellent knowledge of controlled drugs legislation and clinical governance.
• Confident leader with strong communication and decision‑making skills.
• Passion for person‑centred, recovery‑focused care.
