Nursery Cook – Healthy Meals for Children

About the role

We are seeking an experienced cook to join our small private day nursery in Isleworth. You will be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for 20 children aged 12 months to 4 years, ensuring dietary requirements are met each day.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook lunches, teas, snacks and special function meals according to daily menus.
• Monitor portion sizes, allergies and cultural dietary needs.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food‑hygiene standards, including proper storage and temperature control.
• Order ingredients online and manage stock levels to match menu requirements.
• Follow daily and periodic deep‑cleaning schedules for kitchen equipment.
• Communicate with staff about each child’s dietary needs and ensure meals are ready for days off.
• Assist the manager in developing daily menus and complete required paperwork.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a children’s nursery, care home or school kitchen.
• Valid Food Hygiene certificate (training can be arranged).
• Cooking qualification preferred but not essential.
