Nursery Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead Just Imagine Day Nursery in Maldon. In this full‑time position you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the setting, ensuring a high‑quality, safe and nurturing environment for children, families and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the nursery team.
• Maintain compliance with the EYFS framework and safeguarding policies.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and the local community.
• Drive occupancy, financial performance and overall standards.
• Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections.
• Support staff wellbeing and professional development.
• Foster a positive, professional team culture.

Required profile

• Full Level 3 childcare qualification.
• Previous experience managing a nursery.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
• Proven ability to lead early‑years teams.
• Passion for delivering high‑quality childcare.
• Desirable: Level 5 qualification in childcare, leadership or management; experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
