Nursery Practitioner (Level 3) – Early Years

About the role

We are seeking two enthusiastic Nursery Practitioners (Level 3) to join our early years team at The Thicket in Maidenhead. Working 42.5 hours per week, you will support children aged 2‑4 in a safe, stimulating environment and contribute to our Extended Day Care provision.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and wellbeing of children at all times.
• Facilitate learning through play and structured activities.
• Assist with meals, snacks and personal hygiene routines.
• Observe, record and report on each child’s development.
• Prepare and keep the classroom clean, safe and age‑appropriate.
• Ensure equipment is safe, clean and suitable for use.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and external partners.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions and Extended Day Care support.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Early Years.
• Relevant experience in a nursery or early years setting.
• Good command of English and basic numeracy.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Positive, reliable and proactive attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
