Nursing Associate – Neonatal Unit

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Nursing Associate to join our 17‑cot Local Neonatal Unit, caring for babies from 27 weeks' gestation onward. You will work alongside a dedicated team that prioritises family‑integrated care and aims for Stage 3 Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform clinical and care tasks to a high standard, following the individual care plan.
• Support registered nurses, medical staff, and allied health professionals in the unit.
• Work independently when required, seeking advice as needed.
• Adapt to evolving service needs and contribute to service development.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, values‑driven candidate with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work without direct supervision while maintaining accountability.
• Commitment to NHS values and compassionate patient care.
• Foundation degree level education or equivalent knowledge base.

Required skills

• Basic clinical care competencies appropriate to a Nursing Associate role.
• Understanding of neonatal care principles.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
