About the role
Join EDF’s occupational health team at the Torness nuclear site, providing essential health support to operational staff in a fast‑paced environment. As an Occupational Health Shift Nurse you will deliver medical examinations, health surveillance and wellbeing advice while working closely with an Occupational Health Advisor.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct occupational health medicals, health surveillance and screening activities within required timeframes.
- Perform drug and alcohol testing as a trained collection officer.
- Provide health advice, lifestyle guidance and support employee wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate health records ensuring strict confidentiality.
- Support emergency response and first‑aid duties on site.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse qualification with post‑qualification experience.
- Understanding of medical confidentiality, ethics and accountability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Required skills
- Clinical skills: ECG, venepuncture, urinalysis, blood pressure monitoring.
- Additional skills (training provided): Audiometry, spirometry, HAVs assessment, skin surveillance, decontamination.
- First Aid or FREC 3 certification (advantageous).
- Display Screen Equipment Assessor qualification (advantageous).
- Drugs and alcohol testing competency (advantageous).
What we offer
- Starting salary £40,084 per annum plus an annual shift allowance of £12,760.
