Occupational Therapist – Mental Health Locum (August Start)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist to join a specialist mental health inpatient service on a locum basis starting in August. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to support service users with complex mental health needs, helping them develop independence and meaningful daily routines.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and create personalised treatment plans.
• Deliver evidence‑based OT interventions aimed at improving confidence and daily functioning.
• Collaborate closely with nurses, psychologists, doctors and other professionals to achieve positive clinical outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to multidisciplinary care planning.

Required profile

• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
• Proven experience working in mental health settings, preferably within an inpatient environment.
• Strong assessment and therapeutic skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• HCPC registration.
